I just spent a week in Whitby for the Folk Festival out on the fringes playing in the Middle Earth, The Friendship Rowing Club, The Black Horse and the Endeavour. Big thanks to all who listened and supported the songs. I was suprised at how widely my style was accepted and appreciated. Acknowledged by the copious pints of Stella that seemed to materialise from nowhere. A very warm welcome indeed. Soon to come amateur video from Whitby. I have been practising with new "Friends" Sean(Guitar, Mandolin) Brian Barnett (Bass) Mitch Mitchel (Drums) Phil Bennet (fiddle) recently at the 3 Sisters in Rainham (Kent) for up and coming Gigs shortly.... The first is at the Dancing Dog Saloon, Bobbing on Friday the 17th October. Then the Flowerpot 96 Sandling Road Maidstone on Saturday 18th October, and being as this is only a week away from my big 60th it should be quite a party. Old Friends bring instruments if you wish. Great gigs in Ms last week good to see a lot of old friends again, particularly at the White Horse good buzz of an evening. Up in Grimsby things are moving along with a regular Jam Night on every second thursday next on the 6th November at the Market Hotel. Up and coming gigs at the Black Bull soon to be announced.

Countrydave has gone through a change of life lately and is currently away from Maidstone, returning from time to time to do gigs in the Kent area and to pop into the local open mike nights. Recent gigs have been across a wide area from the clubhouse at the Humber Cruising Association in Grimsby to The Dancing Dog Saloon in Iwade near Sittingbourne. The music remains the same but gains differnt vibes depending on the musicians from a country rock vibe through to real roots country. Countrydave is currently living on a sailboat preparing it for a passage down to the Kent Coast when summer finally arrives. Stay tuned for a video blog on these pages as this trip gets underway. Bookings for Countrydave Gigs can be made through contacting us through the website or telephoning Countrydave 07719054744 |
